Football is back

Even with covid still being a problem it didn't stop the stadiums from filling up with fans and rooting for their teams. There where alot of surprises this week when it came to who won and who lost that no one expected. The locals didn't fair to well, but it was expected considering the Jets are in rebuild mode and the Giants well I'm not sure what they are doing.

The biggest surprise for me was the Monday night game where the Raiders surprised the Ravens in over time. David Carr threw a 31 yard touchdown pass for the win. I knew the Ravens' defense was going to take a hit with a lot of the players they lost in that side of the ball, but I never expected them to loose to the Raiders. Another big surprise was the Packers and the lost they suffered at the hands of Saints. Jameis Winston really seems to really have found a home in New Orleans and looks like a complete different player compared to his time in Tampa, as for Aaron Rodgers look like a shell of what he accomplished last year during his MVP season throwing 2 interceptions and 0 touchdowns.

Now lets talk about the two local teams. The Giants are a mess right now point black period. Daniel Jones doesn't seem to be improving with more turnovers during week one. Their star running back who is coming back from injury wasn't much better rarely moving the ball on the ground, this just goes to show how bad the Offensive line is. Speaking of Offensive line the Jets' O line wasn't much better. They allowed 6 sacks on rookie quarterback Zach Wilson. Though during the second half of the game the Jets showed some life it wasn't enough to get the win.

Lastly and non football related can we talk about the Subway Series this past weekend. Mets taking 2 out of 3 from the Yankees and Mets' shortstop Francisco Lindor accusing the Yankees of stealing signs. During his 3 home run game you can see Lindor whistling towards the Yankees bench while going around the bases when he hit his second home run, the reason for it was because the Yankees where accused of whistling to tip their hitters to what pitch was coming next. The benches cleared at one point and it looked like Judge and Staton was about to beat down on Lindor. To be honest its been a while since the Subway Series has been this interesting and I'm all for it. Can't wait to see what happens the next time these two teams meet.

This is definitely going to be an interesting year for sports and I can't wait to see what happens this week. Till next time stay bless my Kings and Queens.
