Australian alt-rock grunge rap artist, Lab Rat, released his debut UK single "Exit Path" on 6th September 2024, through Mushroom Pillow Music. Lab Rat, the stage name of British-born Dylan James, has a life marked by personal struggles, including trauma, depression, addiction, and recovery. His music channels these experiences, reflecting on the challenges of mental health and the destructive cycle of substance abuse.

After growing up in Victoria, Australia, where he was immersed in the local punk and metal scenes, Dylan returned to his birthplace of Hillingdon, England, in search of a music career. However, he fell deeper into addiction before eventually reclaiming his life and returning to Australia. His turning point came after witnessing a violent incident that pushed him towards sobriety and self-discovery.

Teaming up with the European label Mushroom Pillow, Dylan has crafted a new chapter in his musical journey.
