- Foreign Dre Reclaims His Crown With Grit and Growth on “Dog In Me”
“Trying to turn a Benz into a Lamb. Niggas sleep, wake ‘em up again… Mighta took an L, but I ain’t never ran. Only thing I ran up was some bands.” Formerly known as Jefe With The Shot, Foreign Dre returns to the scene with his new single, " Dog In Me ." This song isn't just something to listen to during your daily routine; it's a motivational anthem that captures the essence of the underdog's struggle. Produced by Marco Meyler, the track features a powerful beat that aligns with this new phase in Foreign Dre's career. His relentless drive and determination are evident throughout the song, establishing him as a genuine voice in the independent hip hop scene, thanks to his authentic portrayal of the dog mentality. While Jefe with the Shot concentrated on establishing himself in the entertainment world, Dog In Me and the return of Foreign Dre reveal a more mature artist focused on taking control of his career and narrative. Additionally, Dre's unapologetic attitude shines through, combined with Marco Meyler's production, which evokes the feel of classic horror films. This track alone demonstrates his journey of experience and renewal. While Jefe aimed to project an image of dominance and ambition, Foreign Dre confirms it, and the track indicates that his trajectory will only rise from here. Follow him on Instagram Here

- B.Ankha Blooms Again: “Heard U: Bloom Season” Delivers Healing, Heart, and Soulful R&B Revival
B.Ankha, one of NYC’s rising independent R&B artists, follows up her debut L.I.F.E with Heard U: Bloom Season . The album showcases her growth, authenticity, and emotional connection, proving why she’s one of the most exciting voices in modern R&B. Before exploring the album and its specifics, it's essential to recognize B.ankha's accomplishments. Her transformation from an ordinary girl to one of New York City's leading independent artists has been extraordinary. Since her debut release, B.ankha has been relentless, always focused on her objectives. Her first album, L.I.F.E (Life in Full Effect) , not only reflects her nine-year journey but also laid the groundwork for the excellence she continues to deliver through her music and her steadfast determination. This drive has led her to headline at SOB's, open for Fergie Baby, and even achieve over 50,000 views on her "On The Radar" debut. She has progressed from showcasing her versatility to establishing her identity as an artist both in sound and theme. Heard U : Bloom Season was released on all digital streaming platforms on October 10th, and the ten-track project captivated us starting from the lead single Proud . When she shared something Rawrrzone had posted, she mentioned, "This project was for everyone's heart; let's mend them." "If I'm gone tomorrow Won't let them fake flowers crowd me make sure they don't count me out you see Wear it on my sleeve so proudly all 365 I could only be myself speak loudly Tried & I tried No I can't keep the miserable round me Visions of jealousy crowding No I can't fold" For many that really don't know back in January I almost died of complications from diabetes in a room with the only support I had was my mother and one of my oldest friends who was one of the nurses on the team that kept me from losing any more fluids. All that was in my mind was who was there, or in that case who wasn't and how i allowed others to dim my light when I was doing everything in order to make others happy and forget my own. I forgot who I was and what I was capable of. I bring this up because listening to Proud brought me back to that night when I thought it was all over, and I was saying my goodbyes to my brother in Greece sending messages to friends to promise me that if my health took a worse to not have those that ruined me at the services. Im so lucky I had the opportunity to live my life because I am chasing my dreams and i started to become more of who I was back in 2019 before everything really fell apart. Proud is that statement for those who went through the depths of hell and overcome it. It empowers the listener to be proud of the journey and to not let someones miserable son or daughter take advantage of you and your worth. Not only is this the most appropriate intro to the project we feel like this is the top song of the project not just in meaning and storytelling but listen to the vocal range that shes projecting through the entire song, the delivery is deliberate and strikes through the heart and was the perfect song to lead this new era of her musical journey. The album features a blend of soulful rhythms that reflect her growth from both a personal and professional perspective. Don't Worry and To The Sky evoke the era of Cater 2 U by Destiny's Child or the early vibes of SZA, with their warm and emotional delivery. Her harmonies lend an organic feel, capturing the essence of standing by someone and experiencing love for the first time. Don't Worry is a vow to always be a steadfast partner, while To The Sky conveys the sensation of falling in love for the first time and the comforting belief that love can conquer anything Better and Dumb while some critics feel the songs fell short in the overall scheme of the project I feel like people overlooked the storyline of the project. As we said earlier on in the article B.Ankha was catering to mend every heart. Better and Dumb fall into the category of when the rose colored glasses are shattered and the reality of the relationships arent as bright as it may look or when just life doesnt end up your way. Its taking you through the stages of grief in a way. Tainted and Wasted Time resonate deeply with those moments in life when the heart experiences the profound ache of heartbreak. These songs encapsulate the complex emotions that arise not only from the end of a romantic relationship but also from a painful introspection about one's own identity in the wake of such loss. The lyrics explore the multifaceted nature of grief, which extends beyond the surface of lost love to touch upon the very essence of who we are and who we believed ourselves to be within the context of that relationship. When a relationship crumbles, it often leads to a cascade of feelings, including sadness, anger, and confusion. This betrayal can lead to a reevaluation of one's self-worth and can evoke memories of happier times that now feel tainted by the pain of loss. The songs articulate this turmoil, capturing the essence of feeling wasted—not just in the sense of time lost, but also in the emotional energy expended on a relationship that has ultimately failed to thrive. Moreover, the themes of these songs delve into the idea of nostalgia, where the past is viewed through a lens of both fondness and regret. As one reflects on the moments shared with a partner, there is often a struggle between cherishing those memories and grappling with the hurt they now bring. The contrast between love and pain forms a touching story that resonates with many, emphasizing the common experience of heartbreak.. In this way, Tainted and Wasted Time serve not only as anthems for the heartbroken but also as cathartic expressions that allow listeners to process their own experiences of love and loss. Ultimately, these songs remind us that heartbreak is a complex journey, one that involves not just the grieving of a relationship but also a deeper exploration of one’s own vulnerabilities and desires. In conclusion, this project was dedicated to all the hearts in need of healing and to all the souls experiencing each of these situations. B Ankha demonstrates that R&B is constantly evolving and deeply emotional. Let's keep boosting these numbers! If you haven't yet, what are you waiting for? Follow her on instagram @b.ankha_
- "A Tale of Two Tillers: Solace & The Vices Redefines the TrapSoul Era"
A decade after Tiller's groundbreaking debut album, T R A P S O U L , which established him as a formidable force in the music industry, the Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum artist is back with an ambitious and highly anticipated project: the second part of his dual LP, titled Solace & The Vices . This new endeavor marks a significant evolution in Tiller’s artistic journey, offering fans an intricate exploration of his musical identity and personal growth over the years. The duality of this project is particularly noteworthy, as it allows Tiller to seamlessly blend the vibrant energy characteristic of hip hop with the smooth, soulful vibes that have become synonymous with R&B. The two parts of the album, Vices and Solace , encapsulate the complexity of human emotions, capturing both the storm—the tumultuous, often chaotic experiences of life—and the calm—the moments of reflection, peace, and understanding that follow. In an instagram post Tiller discusses how he removed all the vices in his life and disclosed hes been sober and he started to fully experience life. Released on August 8th of this year, Vices serves as a powerful introduction to the project. It features a collection of tracks that merge sharp, incisive bars with melodic hooks, allowing Tiller to not only demonstrate his lyrical prowess but also to engage listeners with relatable narratives about temptation and the struggles that accompany indulgence. In contrast, Solace , which released on October 2nd, 2025, represents a more mature and introspective side of Tiller. This segment of the dual LP is designed to resonate on a deeper emotional level, showcasing the artist's evolution as he delves into themes of self-reflection, personal growth, and the importance of understanding the consequences of one's actions. Tiller's lyrical content in this part encourages listeners to reflect upon themselvs, prompting them to consider how their past decisions shape their present realities. This project transcends entertainment, allowing Tiller to impart wisdom by highlighting cause and effect, fostering awareness of life's complexities and choices. The dual LP showcases Tiller's refusal to be confined to a single genre, embracing his multifaceted artistry and navigating both hip hop and R&B effortlessly. Lets get into some of our favorites from both sides starting with Solace: “no more skipping therapy… no more 2 a.m. disappearing” Strife effectively sets the tone for the project by introducing Tiller's emotional conflict, a struggle familiar to us all. When faced with difficulties, we often choose to escape rather than address our problems and pain. "Strife" is the track where he acknowledges the personal work he must undertake. He explains this is the reason for his vulnerability and pain, establishing the emotional foundation for the remainder of the project. No Contest is the song that makes us reflect when a relationship concludes. Tiller, with a deep sense of vulnerability, offered everything to someone, and despite how they treated him, he chooses not to fight it but to focus on moving forward. Workaholic , produced by Charlie Heat, reflects on his career around 2018, a time when he feared becoming just a statistic in the industry, causing disruptions and strains in his personal relationships. I Need Her - Tiller brings classical 90s RNB with his signature style of harmonizing. Gives us that feel good loving that this generations music is missing. Crocodile Tears is the track under discussion, showcasing that he is more than just a pleasant voice. This song serves as a powerful testament to his artistry, revealing not only his vocal prowess but also his ability to weave complex narratives through lyrics. With a sharp flow that cuts through the air, "Crocodile Tears" delves into the intricate and often murky waters of emotional manipulation—an act where individuals feign emotions to exploit others for personal gain. The title itself is a poignant metaphor, alluding to the insincerity of such actions, as crocodiles are famously said to shed tears while consuming their prey. The track evokes a deep sense of nostalgia, drawing listeners into a reflective state as it highlights the repercussions of emotional manipulation on both the perpetrator and the victim. The introspective nature of the track invites a connection with the audience, encouraging them to reflect on their own lives and the costs associated with emotional manipulation. Ultimately, "Crocodile Tears" stands out as a multifaceted piece that not only entertains but also serves as a mirror to the complexities of human relationships, leaving a lasting impression on all who hear it. The Vices The Vices which dropped in August of 2025 was the project in which Tiller can go off and flex his lyrical pen. This project had a number of notable features such as Rick Ross, Plies, T-Pain, Bun B and more. The project gives energy and space for him to lyrically show off his pen without loosing his melodic charm. Starting from First Place where he celebrates his positioning of him winning and becoming a bigger household name. The sample resembles Ill Give All My Love To You by Keith Sweat allowing the melody to blend effortlessly in the backdrop as the lyrics take 1st place. He shows that he isn't to be compared to others in his genre that he is beyond it. 200 Bands showcases southern rap/R&B featuring Plies and T-Pain. The track highlights the freedom that comes with financial success, allowing you to lavishly treat those you care about. T-Pain introduces an early 2000s vibe to the feature, while Plies delivers a smooth flow, contrasting Tiller's achievements and generosity with his past losses. Money Shower Interlude captures the essence of wealth and people's perceptions. This interlude marks a change in vibe and serves as an anthem for those who doubted him, expressing his desire to make them proud. The track transitions from familiar vices to a state of solace, enabling the listener to begin understanding the cost of the consequences. Last Call With many references to the nightlife industry talking about someone he has the push and pull with acknowledging the romantic dynamic, wanting them especially late night when they are drunk he wants to be that call for them. While its one of the last tracks of the vices project it sets the listener up for solace as it has the rare moment of seduction and reflection opening us up to the vulnerability. - Cardi B Reclaims Her Crown: Am I The Drama? Album Review
First and foremost, it's important to note that no one should claim Cardi has been absent since the release of Invasion of Privacy . Her public appearances, along with her ventures and personal background, have kept her in the limelight. As the fourth quarter begins, things are looking very promising for Cardi B. She not only delivered a strong collection of work, proving she never really left, but she also revived a promotional culture in New York that hasn't been witnessed in years. Let me explain: Artists, hear me out: engaging with your audience and being present in the real world is still very much alive. What truly impressed us at the Rawrrzone about Cardi B's marketing strategy was her return to basics. While she maintained her social media content and enjoyed creating buzz for new singles by releasing them as she did over the summer, she took promotion to the next level by reviving guerrilla tactics, hosting pop-up events, and focusing on building personal relationships to advance further. We admired the storyline she crafted when she claimed the label would drop her if sales didn't meet expectations. In just the first week, Am I The Drama ? sold over 200,000 units, making it the top project on Billboard for R&B/Hip-Hop. Invasion of Privacy was the project that established Cardi as a megastar, announcing to the world her arrival, but Am I The Drama showcases Cardi's resilience. It serves as a reminder of her strength as she navigates challenges with the father of her children, reclaims her narrative, and challenges a culture that seeks to undermine women. Technically, the album surpasses its predecessor by offering greater depth in her delivery. In Am I The Drama , her delivery is more assured, precise, and deeply rooted in storytelling. The tracks provide more background and balance, avoiding an excess of diss tracks in favor of therapeutic ones. This project explores themes such as Cardi reclaiming what belongs to her and being emotionally vulnerable under the spotlight. It delves into heartbreak, loss of trust, and her self-worth throughout her marriage to Offset. Cardi continues to experiment with sound, incorpor..0ating drill, pop, bounce, R&B, and Latino influences. She demonstrates her ability to not only excel in her own style but also dominate other genres. We also see duality we see in certain tracks such as Outside , Petty and Pretty where she is the mega star but then theres tracks such as safe where her vulnerability of being a woman and a mother come into play. Lets look at our favorites from the 23 track project, courtesy of our friends at Welcome to the Rawrrzone and Caphouse Media many songs were fillers in our opinion as there were moments where Cardi started strong and aggressive and then had follow ups that should not have been there. The single's that introduced this project such as Outside and Safe ( featuring Khelani) was a great representation of the balance between the lyricist and the woman. Outside was the national baddie anthem of the summer, if you went through a breakup that song had you in the clubs thinking you that bad bitch. While Safe is that song everyone can relate to when you want to have a partner that makes you safe not only in your skin but in your mental mindstate. Social media has really turned the dating scene everywhere extremely toxic. This gives us Hella soft feminine vibes , giving optimism to be able to move on. Dead (Feat Summer Walker) - Sets the tone for the entire project, from the soundbites of media clips and her reaction to it all, Cardi let everyone know of the gate that she hasn't gone anywhere and she is here to stay. "You from Boston, let’s have a little tea party Why you got kicked out of that condo? Why you be online and be lyin’, though? Why you always at Diddy house? I heard they Combed that little kitty out" Pretty and Petty stands out as our favorite track from the project, a bold and unapologetic diss track that takes aim at BIA for her controversial remarks directed at Cardi's children. The song delves into the complexities of their rivalry, highlighting the tensions that arise when personal attacks intersect with professional competition. BIA's comments, which many deemed inappropriate, serve as the catalyst for Cardi's fierce response, encapsulated in the sharp lyrics and biting tone of the song. Furthermore, the track accuses BIA of borrowing from Cardi's unique delivery style, suggesting that her own artistry lacks originality and depth. In "Pretty and Petty," Cardi does not hold back; she calls out BIA's discography—or the perceived absence of it—pointing out the deficiencies in her body of work while simultaneously elevating her own accomplishments. The lyrics are laced with clever wordplay and sharp jabs that not only insult BIA's public persona but also mock her career milestones, or the lack thereof. Cardi's delivery is infused with confidence, as she juxtaposes her own success against BIA's perceived mediocrity, creating a narrative that emphasizes her dominance in the industry. The track serves as a commentary on the competitive nature of the music scene, where artists often find themselves at odds with one another, especially when personal matters spill into the public domain. Cardi's ability to intertwine personal grievances with professional critiques showcases her lyrical prowess and her understanding of the dynamics at play in the world of hip-hop. The song resonates with listeners who appreciate the artistry of diss tracks, as it combines catchy hooks with pointed accusations, making it both entertaining and thought-provoking. Overall, "Pretty and Petty" is more than just a diss track; it is a powerful statement about self-identity, artistic integrity, and the lengths to which artists will go to defend their legacy against perceived slights. It encapsulates the essence of rivalry in the music industry, where the lines between personal and professional are often blurred, resulting in memorable and impactful musical exchanges. Man of Your Word and Shower Tears are two poignant songs that resonate deeply with anyone who is mourning the loss of a relationship. These tracks serve as a heartfelt exploration of the complexities and emotional turmoil that often accompany a breakup. In particular, "Man of Your Word" delves into the intricacies of Cardi B's relationship with Offset, highlighting the struggles they faced together. The lyrics extend beyond simply critiquing Offset; they offer a detailed examination of Cardi's feelings and experiences. She expresses her realization that she may have missed some of Offset's struggles during their relationship and touches on the recurring theme of unfulfilled promises in romantic relationships. This introspective view enables listeners to engage with her more profoundly as she explores the intricacies of love, trust, and disappointment. The song encapsulates the genuine emotions of acknowledging one's own faults in a relationship, making it relatable to those who have faced similar regret or uncertainty. On the other hand, "Shower Tears" complements this narrative by providing a more vulnerable glimpse into Cardi's emotional state following the end of her relationship. In this track, she sheds the protective layers she often wears in public, revealing her human side and the pain that accompanies heartbreak. The imagery of tears in the shower symbolizes a private moment of grief, where she allows herself to feel and process the sorrow that comes from lost love. It hits home, everyone male or female need their time in general to decompress. There is something about the steam from the warm water that helps center someone when they feel like their whole world is falling apart. These songs collectively depict a compelling journey of introspection and emotional truthfulness. They inspire listeners to accept their emotions, whether it involves sadness, anger, or yearning, and to understand that being vulnerable is a strength, not a weakness. With "Man of Your Word" and "Shower Tears," Cardi B not only conveys her personal story but also provides a space for others to reflect on their own experiences with love and loss, ultimately promoting a sense of connection and empathy among those who have encountered similar challenges in their relationships. " Stand When I Walk in Salute When I Speak" Salute exudes a celebratory vibe, capturing attention right from the beginning. While "Press" was Cardi's battle cry urging the media to back off, "Salute" conveys a sense of empowerment as she takes command of her stage. The media shifts from being the aggressors to becoming soldiers, with Cardi there to whip them into shape. This track not only challenges the media and critics but also takes on the industry as a whole on a broader scale. While "Press" declares her intent to defeat those who come after her, "Salute" portrays her as the general who has already won the battle. “You a shady-a bitch, you’ve been trash since birth / Mama didn’t want you, Brenda’s baby-a** bitch (Brenda).”* Magnet ranks among the top three most lyrically aggressive songs on this project. Right from the opening line, Cardi B takes aim at JT (of City Girls), Lil Uzi Vert, and possibly Ice Spice. The track serves as a powerful statement, addressing those who claim Cardi doesn't write her own lyrics. She uses it to showcase her lyrical prowess, responding to media critiques while simultaneously highlighting tensions with JT, whom Cardi accused of being insincere. Since 2021, City Girls appeared to have a good relationship with Cardi, collaborating multiple times. However, as the duo interacted more with Cardi, friction emerged between JT and Cardi. This tension culminated in a public Twitter spat after JT congratulated Nicki Minaj on charting instead of Cardi, leading to her being labeled a "lapdog." The final catalyst for "Magnet" was the disputes involving JT, the Lil Uzi Vert camps, and Cardi B, sparked when Cardi congratulated Uzi on "Just Want to Rock," which fans saw as disrespectful due to rumors of JT dating Uzi. The track rekindled long-standing animosities and brought everything to the forefront. "Everything I do pulls attention—even my haters can't help but orbit me." The moment arrived, drawing everything to her like a magnet. It's a solid project that offers a comprehensive understanding of Cardi B and her artistic journey over the last few years. Cardi has evolved significantly since her initial rise to fame, and this project encapsulates her growth, both personally and professionally. The album reflects her experiences, struggles, and triumphs, providing listeners with a deeper insight into her life and the factors that have shaped her as an artist. However, some of the features on the album honestly felt like fillers rather than meaningful collaborations. While collaborations can enhance a project by introducing different styles and perspectives, in this case, they seemed to lack the depth and synergy that one would expect from such high-profile artists. Additionally, I was disappointed that Janet Jackson was not featured on a track as I had anticipated. The promotional materials and the buildup to the release created an impression that her involvement would be significant, leading many fans to expect a powerful collaboration. Instead, her presence was only felt through the instrumentation, which felt misleading. Overall, while the project has its strengths, these elements left me feeling somewhat underwhelmed and yearning for a more cohesive and authentic collaboration experience. Cardi, are you the Drama? Yes, indeed, but we enjoy every moment of it. Check out this article and other reviews in the Caphouse Media official content Mall on Discord .
- Barz Nice Drops "Manish Boyz" Ft. JD Haze x BullyBoi
Barz Nice is back with yet another banger, "Manish Boyz." The record features JD Haze and comes with production by BullyBoi. A head nodding blend of bass and striking melodies amplifies reminiscent storytelling. The duo's catchy flow, which exudes Andre 3000 vibes, captures a time when they were boys spying on parents and trying to be part of grown folk's business. They were intrigued how everyone came together for music, the DJs, house parties, drinks, and conversations. As they matured it was backpacks, gold chains, hanging out on the courts, and of course Hip Hop. Stream "Manish Boyz" and connect with Barz Nice below. - Jimmy Kimmel Scandal: What It Reveals About Free Speech
FCC commissioner Brendan Carr once mentioned that political satire is among the oldest and most significant forms of free speech, as it challenges those in authority and uses humor to engage more individuals in the conversation. Here at Welcome to the Rawrrzone, we typically steer clear of politics and what mainstream media labels as propaganda. However, after contemplating society's actions before and after the incident involving Jimmy Kimmel, I am appalled. The incident in question pertains to the violation of our 1st Amendment right to free speech. The segment that led to the "shutdown" of the late-night comedy show did not target the tragic death of Charlie Kirk; rather, it focused on the President's comments regarding the situation. As a member of the independent media, this makes me genuinely concerned about the future. Jimmy Kimmel was removed because someone's feelings were hurt, and in the effort to take him off the air, it highlighted what the world has arrogantly and ignorantly overlooked. This situation has highlighted the emergence of Anti-American leaders and their strategy to control which news reaches the public. It's important to clarify that the issue wasn't about the comment made regarding conservative activist Charlie Kirk and his ties to the MAGA movement. The focus was on the White House's response to the tragic death. ABC decided to suspend the show indefinitely due to the political pressure exerted by the Trump administration and the FCC to suppress media voices. The ongoing refusal by affiliate stations to air Kimmel's syndication underscores how political gatekeepers continue to oversee and influence the narrative, potentially depriving the audience of certain news perspectives. In his monologue, Kimmel remarked that releasing all the Epstein Files would be necessary for America to overlook the erosion of their First Amendment rights. What implications does this hold for the future of journalism, academia, or the advocates and creators striving to drive change and make an impact? Is the media increasingly becoming a battleground for political discourse rather than a source of entertainment? The incident involving Jimmy Kimmel also places Disney under scrutiny as a corporation for its handling of political pressure, FCC threats, shareholder backlash, and its efforts to protect the company's public image and the rights and freedoms of its talent. Disney's inaction in preventing the show's potential cancellation led society to rally in support of Jimmy Kimmel. The financial and reputational risks arising from the top-down censorship demonstrate that the public can see through the government's attempts to conceal everything. The positive outcome from this situation was that Kimmel learned to take the high road. He never intended to make light of the tragedy involving Charlie Kirk and highlighted the forgiveness shown by Charlie Kirk's wife towards his killer as a catalyst for practicing forgiveness. He expressed gratitude to the millions of supporters who took to social media to demonstrate humility, empathy, and a national reflection on our polarized culture, acknowledging that our words are more powerful than we realize. The boycott of Disney and its subsidiaries taught us the importance of standing up for what is right, no matter how challenging it may be. It shows that compassion and our actions as a community through social media, texting, and calling can make a difference in standing up for what is right and wrong. This was not just a late-night TV controversy; it was a test of American democracy, media freedom, and cultural values. If we do not continue to push back, it will become more about our civil liberties and less about what we watch on TV.

- Community Spotlight: Baby D’s Snaxxx N’ Shit
When I tell you I was lifted to another ozone layer after eating half of one of these cookies, it is not an exaggeration. The high I experienced was not only whimsical, but soothing to my joints. It all started at a barbecue. It was a calm Saturday evening in the park. Basketball tournaments were stirring, the children were playing carelessly in the playground while the adults chattered on the park benches. The group of friends I was with were enjoying a grilled feast. After the eating, laughter and catching up, we were presented with a treat. Someone started passing around a ziplock bag full of cookies. Now, I love a good cookie so that sold me right there. As I looked through the pack for the satisfying flavor of my choice, I found “The Big Back Biscoff”. I had to try it. It was thick. It was soft. Baked into the center was a giant rolled biscoff. The first thing that hit me was the aroma. Omg. The potency of the cannabis did not override the perfect taste of the ingredients. The combination had me in a swoon. It was so good I went past my better judgement and ate the entire half of the cookie. I could feel my body relaxing into a dreamscape. As the night ended, we all went our separate ways but the high continued to roam through my body. As I sat in the Uber, the high took over in a wonderful way. All the sleep I had to catch up on from working long weeks came crashing down gently. My sleep was priceless that night. I recommend this edible to anyone with joint pain and sleep issues. Thank you Luccy Flawless. Go support her and all of her pastries !

MJ: Before we jump into the new album, let the world know who Ron Karona is, and tell us about that moment when "pen and mic" ignited something in you. RK: I started rhyming and writing lyrics and poetry when I was 14 or 15, around 1995/96. By high school, I was taking it more seriously than school almost. I always had this feeling that I would end up doing something with music. MJ: When speaking to artists from various locations, I pick up on different vibes when it comes to Hip Hop and the culture. What's your take on the scene in VA and Philly? RK: Both VA and Philly have incredible Hip Hop scenes. I’m going to speak about Virginia because I’m more familiar with it. When I got to VCU in Richmond, VA, in 1999, I was exposed to the most Hip Hop talent I had ever been around. Emcees, DJs, producers, etc. It was like boot camp for Hip Hop heads; all we did was cipher up, listen to beats, and sharpen our skills. That scene in VA is still going strong. Big shoutout to profound79, Fan Ran, Mike Wunda, The One Who Knocks, 703 to the 757 MJ: You're a seasoned artist in the game, and your music is widely received and respected. What's your recipe for creating shelf-less music? RK: The recipe for me is to read a lot; all kinds of books all the time, and then diversify the music I listen to so I’m absorbing all this different stuff into my subconscious. Then, when I get a dope beat and start writing to it, I have all this stuff I can pull from. I also record prolifically; I did about 75 tracks last year .MJ: Let's dive into the new album 'Life or Death.' Give some inside scoop from concept to production. RK : The album is pretty much a year’s worth of me recording over Antagonist beats. We didn’t really plan it out. One day in May, we talked about putting out an album of just me rocking antagonist beats, and a day later, it was done. I did about 25 tracks, and then we narrowed it down. I feel like every track is strong. MJ: You have several collabs with Antagonist Dragonspit and share an incredible MC/producer chemistry. How did that relationship come into fruition? RK: We met in Richmond at VCU in 1999. He’s been a huge influence on me since. We first recorded together in 2001 and did a bunch of tracks at Depth Charge Recording (Team Demolition) in the early 2000s. He produced a ton of my tracks, and he’s a great friend and legendary emcee. MJ: What is the takeaway from 'Life or Death?' What are you hoping audiences/listeners will grasp from the album? RK: I’m virtually unknown, even though I have been doing it for a long time, so I look at the album as an introduction to myself. MJ: Do you have a favorite track off the album? Or one that hits heavier than the others? RK: My favorite tracks kind of change depending on my mood, but you can’t go wrong with “Graveyard Dogs.” The video is out now for that as well. MJ: What's next for Ron Karona? RK: Big things. But I must keep working hard. My day is coming. I've been saying that for 25 years and I still believe it. MJ: Take this time to let everyone know where they can connect with you. Instagram @ronkaroniEmail pmurph101@yahoo.com
