Jefe Wit The Shot Drops 'Jefe Wit The Samples' Project

Jefe Wit The Shot just released his first project of the year, and he's just getting warmed up. Jefe Wit The Samples arrived on Friday and serves as a joint project between the Newburgh, New York emcee and his Final Score Entertainment labelmate and in-house producer, Half.

The four-song EP features some classic sampling. The lead-in single "No Heart Winter," featuring English McFly, sees both rappers glide over a New York drill flip of Sugarhill Gang's "Apache." Other samples include Barrington Levy's "Black Roses" on "Ball," featuring BG, and "Candy Rain," Soul For Real's iconic hit, on "The Plan," featuring Mookie Mook. "The Interlude" is a haunting track that samples Elley Duhé's "Middle of the Night."

"I had a couple of records, and some of them we redid the beats on," Jefe explained of how the project came together. "Half redid the beats, and he just did a lot of samples." And thus, Jefe Wit The Samples was born.

Jefe is fresh off the release of not only his sample project but also a feature alongside labelmate Bae B. on her "Bein' Humble" single. Next up, you'll find Jefe alongside the rest of his labelmates on the Final Score Entertainment compilation project called The Score 2, which is due out this spring. He'll be dropping another solo project this summer, titled PhLy Jefe.
