A decade after Tiller's groundbreaking debut album, T R A P S O U L, which established him as a formidable force in the music industry, the Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum artist is back with an ambitious and highly anticipated project: the second part of his dual LP, titled Solace & The Vices. This new endeavor marks a significant evolution in Tiller’s artistic journey, offering fans an intricate exploration of his musical identity and personal growth over the years. The duality of this project is particularly noteworthy, as it allows Tiller to seamlessly blend the vibrant energy characteristic of hip hop with the smooth, soulful vibes that have become synonymous with R&B. The two parts of the album, Vices and Solace, encapsulate the complexity of human emotions, capturing both the storm—the tumultuous, often chaotic experiences of life—and the calm—the moments of reflection, peace, and understanding that follow.

In an instagram post Tiller discusses how he removed all the vices in his life and disclosed hes been sober and he started to fully experience life.

Released on August 8th of this year, Vices serves as a powerful introduction to the project. It features a collection of tracks that merge sharp, incisive bars with melodic hooks, allowing Tiller to not only demonstrate his lyrical prowess but also to engage listeners with relatable narratives about temptation and the struggles that accompany indulgence.

In contrast, Solace, which released on October 2nd, 2025, represents a more mature and introspective side of Tiller. This segment of the dual LP is designed to resonate on a deeper emotional level, showcasing the artist's evolution as he delves into themes of self-reflection, personal growth, and the importance of understanding the consequences of one's actions. Tiller's lyrical content in this part encourages listeners to reflect upon themselvs, prompting them to consider how their past decisions shape their present realities.

This project transcends entertainment, allowing Tiller to impart wisdom by highlighting cause and effect, fostering awareness of life's complexities and choices. The dual LP showcases Tiller's refusal to be confined to a single genre, embracing his multifaceted artistry and navigating both hip hop and R&B effortlessly.

Lets get into some of our favorites from both sides starting with Solace:

“no more skipping therapy… no more 2 a.m. disappearing”

Strife effectively sets the tone for the project by introducing Tiller's emotional conflict, a struggle familiar to us all. When faced with difficulties, we often choose to escape rather than address our problems and pain. "Strife" is the track where he acknowledges the personal work he must undertake. He explains this is the reason for his vulnerability and pain, establishing the emotional foundation for the remainder of the project.

No Contest is the song that makes us reflect when a relationship concludes. Tiller, with a deep sense of vulnerability, offered everything to someone, and despite how they treated him, he chooses not to fight it but to focus on moving forward.

Workaholic, produced by Charlie Heat, reflects on his career around 2018, a time when he feared becoming just a statistic in the industry, causing disruptions and strains in his personal relationships.

I Need Her - Tiller brings classical 90s RNB with his signature style of harmonizing. Gives us that feel good loving that this generations music is missing.

Crocodile Tears is the track under discussion, showcasing that he is more than just a pleasant voice. This song serves as a powerful testament to his artistry, revealing not only his vocal prowess but also his ability to weave complex narratives through lyrics. With a sharp flow that cuts through the air, "Crocodile Tears" delves into the intricate and often murky waters of emotional manipulation—an act where individuals feign emotions to exploit others for personal gain. The title itself is a poignant metaphor, alluding to the insincerity of such actions, as crocodiles are famously said to shed tears while consuming their prey. The track evokes a deep sense of nostalgia, drawing listeners into a reflective state as it highlights the repercussions of emotional manipulation on both the perpetrator and the victim.

The introspective nature of the track invites a connection with the audience, encouraging them to reflect on their own lives and the costs associated with emotional manipulation. Ultimately, "Crocodile Tears" stands out as a multifaceted piece that not only entertains but also serves as a mirror to the complexities of human relationships, leaving a lasting impression on all who hear it.

The Vices

The Vices which dropped in August of 2025 was the project in which Tiller can go off and flex his lyrical pen. This project had a number of notable features such as Rick Ross, Plies, T-Pain, Bun B and more. The project gives energy and space for him to lyrically show off his pen without loosing his melodic charm. Starting from First Place where he celebrates his positioning of him winning and becoming a bigger household name. The sample resembles Ill Give All My Love To You by Keith Sweat allowing the melody to blend effortlessly in the backdrop as the lyrics take 1st place. He shows that he isn't to be compared to others in his genre that he is beyond it.

200 Bands showcases southern rap/R&B featuring Plies and T-Pain. The track highlights the freedom that comes with financial success, allowing you to lavishly treat those you care about. T-Pain introduces an early 2000s vibe to the feature, while Plies delivers a smooth flow, contrasting Tiller's achievements and generosity with his past losses.

Money Shower Interlude captures the essence of wealth and people's perceptions. This interlude marks a change in vibe and serves as an anthem for those who doubted him, expressing his desire to make them proud. The track transitions from familiar vices to a state of solace, enabling the listener to begin understanding the cost of the consequences.

Last Call With many references to the nightlife industry talking about someone he has the push and pull with acknowledging the romantic dynamic, wanting them especially late night when they are drunk he wants to be that call for them. While its one of the last tracks of the vices project it sets the listener up for solace as it has the rare moment of seduction and reflection opening us up to the vulnerability.
