- Project Review: Mind Of Stoney by Frank Stoney
Brooklyn's own Frank Stoney is back with his latest project, Mind Of Stoney , showing off how he’s grown from an actor trying to make it, into a versatile artist. After seven years in the music game and balancing both acting and music, Stoney brings a mix of energy and chill vibes that feel both real and dynamic. He kicks things off with “Peace,” setting the tone for the whole album. His signature ad-lib “ouii” pops up as he drops bars full of ambition and confidence, like “I run it up and I fuck it up.” It’s the kind of track that makes you want to go after your goals with no hesitation, letting everyone know Stoney’s here to make waves. Next up is “Energy,” where Stoney turns on the charm and gets a little flirty. The standout line, “Frequencies is hitting, can you feel the vibrations?” mixed with some spicy X-rated lyrics, leaves a lasting impression. The playful autotune finish and his signature ad-lib make the track hard to forget. Then there’s “Burkin,” which dives into relationships and desires with a bold hook—“She want a Burkin and he wants some throat.” It might catch you off guard, but it’s raw and entertaining, giving an honest look at the mix of luxury and lust. “Saturday Morning,” featuring SURFBOYMAXX, has a Travis Scott vibe with a fresh, lively feel. Stoney’s confidence shines through with lines like “Told her don’t call me daddy, call me your majesty.” It’s definitely got single potential and that festival-ready energy that could blow up. “Paradise,” featuring Wave9forever, switches things up with a laid-back, beachy vibe. Wave9forever’s smooth flow over the beat makes it a perfect anthem for a chill day at the beach. The hook is catchy as hell, and you’ll find yourself humming it long after the track ends. With “Addiction,” Stoney gets more personal, talking about vices and questioning a loved one’s flaws. It’s a deeper track that stands out against the more playful and explicit ones on the album. His lyrical skills are on point, with lines like “Catching a drift in her ocean” painting vivid pictures of emotional depth. The album closes with “Blessed,” featuring z33, bringing everything full circle with a story of coming up from nothing. The collab with z33 is a highlight, adding a touch of gratitude and reflection to wrap things up on a high note. Overall, Mind Of Stoney proves that Frank Stoney’s got both creativity and range. With fire production from @ jhenetics , @iamrafaelbeats, @worldwarlean, and @bryanfiji, plus features from some serious talent, Stoney’s crafted an album that hits on different levels. He knows how to mix raw, honest content with fun, energetic vibes, showing he’s got a real handle on his artistry. If you’re into hip-hop with an R&B twist, this album is one you’ve gotta check out. Frank Stoney isn’t just dropping music—he’s carving out his own lane in the game. Keep an eye on Frank Stoney— he’s not here to play; he’s here to stay.
- daste. Unveils New Single 'Atlas' with Music Video and Announces AUS & USA/CAN Tour Dates
Australian indie-pop trio daste. is back with a captivating new single, "Atlas". daste. is a trio consisting of Callum MacDonald, Braxton Tahi, and Tyler Harden. Their unique blend of indie-pop music infused with smooth R&B and soul influences creates a sound reminiscent of artists like LEISURE, Hard Life, and Jungle. Their new track "Atlas" emerged as one of the first songs that defined the direction and feel of daste.'s new album. During an inspiring session, the trio—Callum MacDonald, Braxton Tahi, and Tyler Harden—found themselves creatively synchronized. They wrote about the stress and weight of life, drawing a parallel to the Greek myth of Atlas, who was condemned to hold up the sky for eternity. The song's core message is about enduring struggle, losing grip, but finding the strength to pick up and move forward. “ We wanted everything to be really consistent and have a similar feeling for the album and singles release cycle ,” says Tyler Harden. This vision led them to work with a dedicated team, including Maxwell Byrne (Golden Vessel/1tbsp) and Bec Zanetti as co-directors for the video, with Tom Carrol (egumei) handling photography and editing. The result is a visually cohesive and playful music video that perfectly complements the song's presence. To celebrate the release of "Atlas", daste. will embark on a tour starting in Australia in early August, followed by their first-ever shows across the USA and Canada in September and October. This tour promises to bring their new music to life on stage, with a revamped set designed to excite both the band and the audience. Facebook - X - Instagram

- Josh Banton takes first step in solo career with single Temperature
It's been quite a summer for one of our winners of the 2024 Road to the Giveback. We haven't seen much of him since he was on Monday Night Rawrr back at our first studio. He cohosted a few episodes of Welcome to the Rawrrzone, but the multi-talented singer had slipped under our radar for the last few years. In 2024, he announced that not only would he be ghostwriting and helping independent artists, but he also decided to grace the stage again with new material, marking the beginning of a new chapter for this rising young artist. "Temperature," the debut single from the Brownsville native, is a declaration of the heat Banton will bring this summer. Kicking off his run with his love of dancehall, the young artist had us dancing in our seats during his Road to the Giveback performance. On the first listen, the melody takes us back to the late '90s and early '00s, reminiscent of Tanto Metro and Devante when parties blasted "Everyone Falls In Love Sometimes." As for his sound, we hear a mature version of his former counterpart Lex Banton, infused with his real-life persona Joshua, the music lover who understands the game and what a hit song sounds like. His voice flows smoothly with the beat, and you don't hear the pressure in his voice like in songs such as "Legendary" and his past collective group music. We see this young talent going places this summer, and 2024 is shaping up to be his year. Temperature is set to drop August 2nd Follow him everywhere @joshbantonn
