- Chicago's on Fire as Kenyadda pays Homage
Some might remember the music of Kenyadda when we premiered his music on our former show LNK Radio. The Chicago Native recently released his sophmore mixtape Homage in which he shows homage to those before him as well as putting his unique twist on those that have been put out and make it as his own. What we love about Kenyadda here at Rawrr is he has such a unique style that many do not see on this side of the industry. The chicago native takes the vibes of those that come before him and mixes it with his lyricism and gives you something to bump too while you ride your car any time any day. To many the young native might remind you of a young Biggie, or even a little bit of Chris Rivers Our favorite songs here are : Tainted , Different feat L.A Van Gogh and D.A.B.S (2012) We see many things coming from this young talented man you can get a physical copy off his facebook or you can stream it here on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/kennj4sho/sets/homage-1 follow him on instagram : @kenyadda
- Rockview gives us a suprise on Rawrr
In our first Christmas episode of Monday Night Rawrr we had the honor of having our manager / engineer S-Rock in the building discussing his music, life, and of course his career paths with The Peel, Rockview Entertainment, WVMR and more. During this interview he had announced that R & B singer Lucious is the latest addition to the Rockview Entertainment roster. Lucious known for his song Close to You and his latest collaboration with S-Rock More Than Ya Best Friend is one of the breakout artists of 2017-2018. His melodic voice and amazing stage presence is in our opinion the one of the best editions for Rockview Entertainment. Stay tuned the young gentleman will be taking over the world, maybe we will see future projects from this wildfire, or some collaborations we would not expect? Follow them both @titanofrap and @truelucious Monday Night Rawrr comes back January 8th as we have Chef Chrissy Williams in the building and Nazin Rivera Dat Mixbreed Photography

Following his amazing performance at the #GiveBackShow friday, former Voiceless Music Vocalist of the year JR Just Real followed through on a promise that he would bring us fire Friday Dec 22nd. He did with the video for his latest single off Reality Check, So Seductive . So Seductive the second single by the young vocalist has caused quite a storm, let me correct myself 2017 was the year for JR. From the interviews on WVMR and other platforms to the nominations, covers, collaborations and videos the young gentleman from the Bronx made sure that before the year is over you will remember his name. The video a very redlight hot depiction of his lust for a certain someone has taken toll of what a new age lust is. - Ray Beauty Rocks the Holidays with a Centerfold Release
With the holiday season upon us and following one of the biggest events in WVMR and Rockview #TheGiveBackShow owner of Rockview Entertainment S-Rock puts a holiday show to follow the success of Friday's event. With that there was an added bonus a centerfold release party for the first lady of Rockview Entertainment Ray Beauty as she celebrates her first centerfold release in #Bossedup Magazine. Shot by Katie of Monday Night Rawrr and Katie Kay Photography. The centerfold is a new, fresh, classic bad girl look that we have yet to see from the Rockview beauty. To speak a little of why Ray Beauty deserves this centerfold accomplishment lets go back to her history - shes modeled for a majority of her adult life - Walked on Numerous runways - Worked on a summer program for the youth - Mentors future models - Assists and hosts Rockview Events Who wouldn't want that as a face of their company? On behalf of Monday Night Rawrr we want to congratulate Ray Beauty on her centerfold release. The celebration then continued with music spun by Dj Fantom, Jessica B Live, and Monday Night Rawrr's / DNC after Dark own DJ CMurda. Performances included those of Lucious, TRB , Vero G, Vita and Rockview's own Jus Write. The most memorable of performances came from Rockview's own S-Rock, Jus Write and Lucious the performance itself livened up the crowd and kept everyone on their feet and dancing a storm. We even got a suprise as S-Rock performed his latest single #MorethanYaBestFriend alongside Lucious the two have a blend that many rap and r & b artists can not accomplish. The footage will be on the rockviewentertainment.com website within the next few days. Till then may everyone have a happy and blessed new years and tune into Rawrr this Monday on www.wvmradio.net from 10pm-12am as we interview S-Rock for the first time ever.
- What I learned at 9hugs
I normally try to stay unbiased through my writing as possible, nor do I mix my professional life with my personal. Some people who have worked around me professionally did not know I even had a family because I like having the privacy of my family to myself. But this year within the many things that have happened both good and bad we always have our family with us, as unfamiliar as I am with that I started to learn the real concept of that during the development of both Monday Night Rawrr and Katie Kay Photography. But at the same time I might not have been as supportive to my family seeing as I see them when I am not working so I never really had a good look at what my cousins and members of my family really do. More and more this year I learned this lesson and received overwhelming support walking into Republic Pizza Bar for the 9 Hugs Charity Toy Drive Event. Being the youngest of your cousins is usually the harder part about growing up where you want to be part of everything you do and look up to them and then you want to give up after a while then you let time pass and your like holy crap what did I miss out on, and I learned that lesson this year with my cousins when I got to learn more about what my cousin Christine and my cousin Eleni do on a constant basis for their community. Alongside with their friends Lu, Maria, Mina, and Anna they have successfully started an organization called 9hugs dedicated 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that inspires others to Help, Give & Share by improving their lives through effective action and leadership, targeting arising problems and people in desperate need that will develop and brighten a successful future (via 9hugs website 2017). Do you know that these women do amazing things all year around? From coat and clothing drives to toy drives for christmas and I seriously sit amazed at how much they have done and what they continue to do. They have raised so many toys not only this years but the previous years for the Edwin Gould Services Blue Child Project and the turnout at each event keeps getting bigger and bigger. They receive numerous amounts of community support from councilmen and assembly members, and lets not forget major companies and huge performance halls. Every time I walked around and talked about my photography and I told them my name, they realized I was related to two of the members of the organization and many of the individuals that were there would tell me so many good things about my cousins that I did not know about, as well as great things about the organization that I did not know about. It made me feel three things super proud, stupid, and inquiring. While at the same time seeing my cousins and their friends so happy over my photography it made the entire night even more rewarding than what I had already been rewarded with. Ill explain the three Super proud to see not only my family succeed and to do so well in something that they love to do. But the fact that in a society that is patriarchal, to see women stand up and put an initiative in what they believe in its really inspiring, and i started to realize where I get my yearning from wanting to help others. Stupid I spent so much time trying to do so much and try to get their approval growing up and the times where I created distance because I gave up I didn't really see what they were doing and what they wanted to do and not thinking we can build together. We talk in our industry how we try to build with each other and not do it. But in order to unite with others why don't I unite with my family and take small steps to make that difference. Inquiring this is my more interesting of topics, in the indie industry we are in today we see that there are so many cliques and people doing the same exact things and hating on the same exact people and people say they want to make a change and help others. We are mostly helping artists which is great but who are the artist influencing the public, and I am learning maybe we do not take the time out and really reach the public or the things that really affect them. Outside of the Give Back show I never seen many people unite for a cause and I could be wrong of course but seeing what I saw last night changed my perspective. Why can't we take our talents and combine them to do something good, why does it have to be one night where I throw an event and the world notices. Why can;t we help more than one time, I know I will but what about the rest of us. As humans I say we need to take notes from my cousins and the 9 Hugs Organization and not just because they are related to me but they sacrifice so much to help others, they take time out of their day's with their children to make sure a young girl can have a chance to live. Or make sure these children can have toys on Christmas; While we have been sitting there bickering and infighting within our clicks and not doing the most we should be with our talents. My beautiful cousin Eleni and Chrissy, I know I haven't been there often and I probably get on your nerves as should a little cousin but last night you guys gave me a Christmas gift of a lifetime that I will never forget, to me it wasn't the fact that I came there to work, I came there hoping to take pictures and have a good time . But I came back with more knowledge and wisdom than I can ever acquire and know. and again thank you to the ladies of the 9 Hugs organization for your amazing hospitality and kindness that you bestowed upon me. - Le Llegate gives a New Name to the Game
After a long and anticipated wait former Monday Night Rawrr and S3 Radio guest ARP produces the visual to his latest track Le Llegate. The Washington Heights in the industry for quite a while has taken a leap in his music since being apart of his former collective the Blues Brovas and he has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with. Le Llegate in english means Do You Copy? As he is taking a stance as the new king of the industry. Whats even more amazing about the visual to his video he gives a little insight to the beauty that is the Dominican Republic. The video produced by Rusty Mack takes the viewer on a narrative of his home of Puerto Plata. Not only that he also has the local natives apart of the video making it even more genioune to the thought. ARP as an aritst stays genioune to where he is from, although the song Le Llegate has a rap / latin trap feel you still see he brings the genioune feel of his home to the video. The song and video also inspires you to keep grinding. If you dont believe us watch it here. Follow him at @arpmusiq
- 2018 is in S-Rock's favor as he releases new music
Known as the man of many hats, the owner of Rockview Entertainment, brand ambassador for The Peel beverage, co-owner of WVMR. S-Rock or also known as TitanOfRap has started to cause quite a stir in this industry for his many business ventures but more importantly his music; Our crystal ball predicts that his music will be his most favored venture by the public as 2018 approaches with the recent releases of his new music. The business mogul hit us with his music once again first with the release of the summer hit Do Ya Money Dance produced by former Jessica B Live host TahRell, with the first MC in the underground leading the #DoyaMoneyDanceChallenge Trend. Following the Thanksgiving Season your favorite hosts at Rawrr premiered one of his latest songs Real Ones produced by Swiss Frankie. Real Ones relates to women and if they are going to waste their time with a man they should do it for one that is going to give their time for that female, put in the effort for the relationship and not leave them stranded. With a powerful message he also made it easy to bump too with a hip hop dance beat. S-Rock recently just released a collaboration with R & B singer Lucious that should be checked out as well called More Than Ya Best Friend produced by M8Beats. Unexpected as that collaboration was it was a breath of fresh air in a world of hiphop and mumble rap. The two artists although from different genres of music their collaboration flowed like a melody, the song relates to everyone that has that best friend that they know they should be with but through their many obstacles they are not together. How many of you can relate to this? Although nothing is confirmed for a project from the indie business mogul, we are very excited to see what is yet to come from him. We at Monday Night Rawrr vibe with these songs and if you do not you should be. - It Gets Supersensual as JR Just Real releases The Weekend Remix
ICMG / 2 Deep has been on a roll for the year of 2017. From the jump off of singing Ray Fame mid 2017 , working on shoots with XXL magazine and of course releasing songs off their individual projects, One of them having the best years is Voiceless Music 2016 Vocalist of the Year JR Just Real. Since putting out his debut project Reality Check he has been dropping jewels. One of them being this remix to Sza The Weekend. The remix more intimate and more sexual than those that were put out before him. Is short in length compared to some of the other remixes that were put out but packs quite a statement where he talks about being the man, while her man is not around. While many of the male population can relate to this I feel that as a female I can relate to that more because females always crave the attention of their man but when they arent around there some females that want that weekend one. Not condoning it but its a true fact, JR keep pushing this good music and keep making the ladies panties wet with that voice Listen below https://soundcloud.com/jr-justreal-21/the-weekend-realmix Follow JR on Ig @_iamjust_real DONT FORGET TO CATCH JR JUST REAL AT THE GIVE BACK SHOW DECEMBER 15TH AT THE SHILELEIGH TAVERN CONTACT US AT MNRAWRRBOOKINGS@GMAIL.COM FOR TICKET INFO
- Nequasia releases Rewind as a Gift to Us for Her Birthday
Nequasia the queen of the indie scene had yet to put a single out since her releases of Hella Bent (and remixes) , Sexii You, and What you want in the beginning of 2017. With her remixes and her latest shoots she has kept us waiting in anticipation of her latest song Rewind which dropped on Nequasia's birthday this past Sunday the 19th. We loved it so much we premiered it alongside S-Rock - Real Ones Different from her previous releases Nequasia brings an Island pop feel in which this industry has lacked over the last few months. The song has you wanting to rewind and whine to the beat while falling in love with her Melodic voice. We wonder was this song dedicated to a special someone? Hmmmmm. This song some has a more mature feel from her previous tracks, and we look forward to hearing more from her. If you want to hear it for yourself check her out on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/nequasia/nequasia-rewind Follow her on Instagram @nequasia Like her page on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/rNeQuasia/
- The Lyrical Titan returns to show us who Runs this Town
With the end of 2017 drawing very near we see many of our beloved artists putting in that final stamp to make the year end on a positive note. On the other end of the spectrum there are artists that are stomping the yard, and taking names. One of them being ICMG/2Deep owner and your favorite Thot Boy Kony Brooks. In his quest to keep people guessing through the entire year. The latest of his visuals the Run this Town Remix is the next installation in which he shows the evolution of Kony Brooks and gives us something to look forward to in 2018 especially with a possible pending album in the works. The visual includes label mates Ray Fame and Teddy Grahams and was shot by Triz Eye View. The video shows the maturity and difference between who he was during the Kony Island installments and who he is as a thot boy. His latest style has grown to be an incorporation but not an exaggeration of both. We look forward to seeing what he will do in 2018 and beyond. If you like what you see repost and hashtag #GetKingOnFlex and help Kony get noticed by Flex and get on hot 97. Subscribe to Kony's youtube channel and follow him on IG @konybrooks
- AFTER A LONG HIATUS PHIL WILLIAMS AKA SCORPIO P. RELEASES #STREETFOOD EP
After a long hiatus from the music industry, Phil Williams known to many as Scorpio P. releases his long awaited EP #Streetfood. The artist under Bizzy Bee productions made the EP a transformation timeline of his music career. The listening event took place November 8th, 2017 at The Tank NYC. The location holding a special place to Scorpio P. is the home to which he has put numerous productions with his group the Minefield Theater Group. The event was small and intimate gathering of his biggest supporters which included Jazmin Marerro, manager Bizzy Bee, Scott Morris, Asia Golden, Channelle Scott of the Daily Talk with Cool Chellz, Live Johnson and more. The listening party was more of a discussion style listen, Scorpio played each one of the six songs from the EP and between each song there was a discussion of our thoughts on each song. The cupcakes that were provided during the event was catered by his sister Chrissy Williams. Follow her work at @chef_chrissy_williams The EP a six part compilation is a timeline depicting his final stance as an artist before his hiatus to the artist he is right now. As stated in a previous interview the entire compilation is a personal project for Scorpio P. in which each song held a certain part of him but the song Constellation Blues which premiered on Monday Night Rawrr October 16th was his most personal piece to date. As he stated previously " I personally feel as if Constellation Blues is not only my best piece of writing I've ever created, its also my most personal. The song isn't Scorpio P,'s writing: rather it's who Phil Williams is in the purest sense." With that we see the many different sides and messages that he presents with this project. Here are our favorites here on Rawrr. 1) One for the Ages - The most surprising tracks for us, this was the start of what Scorpio P. is. The song different from his current persona has a Ruff Ryder's / DMX feel. This stood out to me the most because this is not Scorpio P. signature sound that he has promoted. But this song made this even more memorable for me because he had him sound like his music and he will go down with the ages which I believe he will. My favorite line is Dark fantasies got me feeling like an asshole , call me doctor Phil on certain occasions this is not a rhyme this is a dissertation. This was unlike what I ever heard and he took the most rawest form of hip-hop and brought it back to life. 2) Constellation Blues - Of course after premiering Constellation Blues on my show it became one of my favorites not only because it was premiered on my show but the meaning behind it. Loved by many since its release, the song Constellation blues became an anthem of what many artists currently feel as they go through their journey whether it is through depression and doubt, working with the wrong people etc. Scorpio P. was not a stranger to these feelings and he depicted it through a ballad. As stated earlier this was his most personal and raw piece has ever written. As a person and someone close to him it was an honor to be able to premiere it and to be able to feel the raw emotion put while hearing this song. 3) Black Magic - I can depict and decipher the entire project because it is one of my favorites for 2017. But that would be giving away the goodies for you when you should download it regardless. Black Magic was premiered following the Inauguration of President Orange Cheeto himself Donald Trump. This was a statement following the Black Lives Matter movement showing they stand allied despite the negligence posed by the new president. Showing the beauty that is the black person, that they belong no matter what. I personally love it because it hits home, to see everyday people are segregated based on their color, and it isnt fair. We should treat each other equally and Scorpio P. presents this in a way that you can really appreciate it. Follow Scorpio P on all social media platforms @mrphilliams Check the EP out on Soundcloud : Soundcloud.com/scorpio_p Dont forget to subscribe to our website and catch us every Monday Night 10pm-12am on www.wvmradio.net or tune into the WVMRNY APP
- No more waiting! Full Moon is Finally Here
On the one year anniversary of Katie in the radio industry, from the conception of LNK Radio to its current stage Monday Night Rawrr we have encountered so many talented artists. But then there are those that possess the raw talent and passion that us personalities look but rarely find. Recently we came across an artist by the name of X-YLE. The artist ally of the infamous AMG crew for whom we love so much, we can now understand why they intertwine musically, the best only roll with the best. They truly do compliment each other when they hit the X-YLE Queens native has found his musical nitch and we saw that during Rawrr where he freestyled for us but his entire project blew us away. Before we touch on the premise and our thoughts of the project lets talk about the amazing listening party that was put together by X-YLE himself and his amazing management Tay Steward. The event was an intimate gathering in which the few and the finest were selected to come and listen to the project, and to give their honest feedback. Amongst those were Host Moberry of All Things Entertaining , Dashdabi the photographer, and Mr. Ruben J. Burgos of the Urban Media Global Network Collective . Performances include Hou$ Da Beast performing his latest single Put In That Work , and Plata o Plomo . The night went off without a hitch, X-YLE performed to his music and he received amazing feedback from the crowd. Finally as we proceed to the final portion of this piece, the album was a representation of who X-YLE is as an artist. As artists go through their transitions and their maturing process as an artist he was no different. As described by many he had a different sound and his look described his different sound. As many were used to his previous look and music many took to this and enjoyed the new age of X-YLE. The project a 13 song compilation had features from Hou$ Da Beast, Kyah Baby, Thirdplaneprez, and even an unexpected feature from Leon Marin. The LP had many of those upbeat motivational songs that would keep you going such as Keep Up . Keep up was one of the premiered songs that we had when X-YLE came to the show. It motivates you in order to keep going and to keep hustling. Which is one of his main focuses in life is to keep striving to succeed. In Here the current single off the album is highly favored by us here at Rawrr for its high pace beat and its you dont hear so many collaborations with such a prominent female sound its very refreshing especially with the outspoken sound of Kyah baby the trifecta was a perfect start to launch the Full Moon Project. Love Crazy is one of my personal favorites, its different from the majority of the project. He has a more deep seductive sound in this talking about the effect someone has on him. Listening to this song would have you love crazy over him. If you havent done it thus far go download / stream Full Moon LP on all digital platforms. Catch his music on our Rawrrs #Whatnottoplayduringthanksgivingdinner playlist on WVMR from 12-2pm and follow him on Instagram @xylenyc
