- The Hero of the Indiestry emerges for the Adventures of Hookz Murdock
This had to have been the most anticipated album of 2017 here in the underground. Former Deanslist Years 2 performer Matt Martinez or known as the infamous Hookz Murdock has been preparing this album for a long time. From the many interviews he did on WVMR and the performances he put on various stages you know from what he can do on the mic, that when this legendary album came out it was going to be epic. The concept of the album of course is one of a comic / adventure nature. With Hookz being the heroine going through the many stages of the comic, many of his songs are named after iconic superhero figures such as Tony Stark, Hal Jordan, Elektra, Black Widow and more. With that with each character he had an amazing collaboration which included Sheena , Butta Cool, Rich Ryan, Zeyi and so much more talk about jam packed! The energy off the album is crazy one minute you hear something with an old school beat that you can bump to such as Hal Jordan, then listen to something laid back as Flight feat Zeyi by the way they can both be baby daddy with that collaboration. You listen to this album and honestly you don't know what you can get from listening to it. Of course our favorites here : Hal Jordan - Hal Jordan has always been Katie's favorite ever since he performed it for Rawrr last May but when she saw Hookz perform it with Frank Knight Butta Cool and Chosen King it just was a final blow. That is always going to be one of his most unforgettable songs between his display and his word play you can not not want to sing along with this song. Black Widow - Fool me once shame on you , fool me twice shame on me , fool me three times Here he talks about the Black Widow in his life who played and how he reflects on it, how he realizes he could not call it love. Elektra / So High feat Sheena - My favorite part was the beginning with the old school narration and the smooth beat following. He brings out the character of Elektra through Ms. Shenna herself that maybe if they cant save the world if she can save him. I will not lie , the inner nerd inside of me is in love with the metaphors and symbolism that he uses to describe the sexual passion between Murdock and Elektra. He wants to get lost in the sounds of Elektra. Stream The Adventures of ... from Hookz Murdock on all digital streaming services everywhere. Follow Hookz Murdock at @hookzmurdock
- Seda becomes Indestructible in the next stage of his career.
No more love songs for now for the Bronx native Ismael Seda, Known and loved for his collaborations such as Masterpiece from Phenom , and Complicated from Xeno. Decided to take his new route with his music. Following his interview on Rawrr on October 2nd he discussed taking a more mature route in terms of his music. If you know Seda's music prior to Indestructible he has written many songs that were about love, breakups, etc.. The latest single Indestructible is more of a pop vibe in which you start to see the evolution of Seda. Written by Seda and produced by Eli Avellan the message of the song gives you the "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger" vibe. When you listen to it you also want to be in a club dancing along to this making you feel empowered, I currently listen to this everyday on my way to work because it keeps me motivated. - Its a new age of Blackout in his latest compilation Train of Thought
We all know Blackout the Rebel as the host / founder of Darkside Radio . the curator of the Darkside Radio website. The genius behind many of the controversial posts you may see on the WVMR/Voiceless music blogs on the website. The gentleman that gives Zeke Jaye the X-Rated pills and attempts to give a broken condom. What you didn't know is Blackout the Rebel among all these things is one of the most talented artists I have encountered in my year in radio. The Jamaica Queens Native has made great strides since his first album E.N.D (Effort Never Dies) The first was the producing of the album. While he is the director and the brains behind the project, he sought the talented mind of engineer/producer/graphic artist Live Johnson to collaborate with him on this project. You can tell this has been touched by Live when you have such a clear quality and understanding of each track. He also created the cover art for the album. Blackout took a more mature approach with the album and brought collaborations that many of us would not expect. If you could not tell, each track passes through a certain train stop in NYC. The first of the collaborations is WVMR member and owner of Lyvelyfe Radio / Dymelyfe productions Ms Dyme Smith herself as she plays the somewhat love interest in Side N**GA and Motions skit . My thoughts had me through the motions while listening to this because if you know the two they are good friends always supporting each other but she is definitely the opposite when it comes to having Blackout over in any type of capacity. It does leave a lot to imagination, however in motions I could not do anything else but laugh as she was asking Who is Aisha why is she Bae?? The second in collaboration on this album that is keeping me on my feet is the Subway Cypher ft Mickey Factz & Splitscreen, this brings you back to the old school days where you got off to listening the cyphers whether it was on the subway or somewhere underground but it gave you that feeling that hiphop was here to stay. Mickey being one of the beasts in battle rap he was the best fit for this album. Although we premiered it on Rawrr a song I will be keeping close to me is Goddess , thank you Blackout for allowing us to premiere it touches upon the female, and how they should treat themselves like a goddess and nothing less. For people that know Blackout and his radio show this is a progression from what many people say and its so appreciated especially in a society when many people are misogonystic and want to bring down the female as sex objects this lifts females such as myself and gives us something to be confident about when we do not feel confident at all. Without giving it all away I personally loved this album, and I believe you would too especially if you are a fan of old school hip hop and believe it would never die. Go to www.blackouttherebel.biz to hear the album follow him on ig : @blkouttherebel Tune in to our interview with him this Monday after Darkside Radio from 10pm-12am
- Its like Alice in Wonderland for Zeke Jaye in the X-rated Music Video
Last Week Zeke Jaye or known to us here at Monday Night Rawrr x WVMR as Mr. Eat the Booty 2017 himself released a video for his latest hit single X-Rated. If you have not heard the single you get a very 90's R-Kelly feel but in a movie format. What gives us the element of suprise is the story line that is developed within the video. With help of WVMR / Darkside Radio own Blackout the Rebel they took this to not only a sexy night with shorty but it reminds you of something that came out of Alice in Wonderland. Let me explain and I am sorry if It sounds bad, but the story started as Blackout the Rebel is a drug dealer giving Zeke X-Rated pills in order for him to have an amazing night with the girl he recently met. Of course Zeke being Zeke trusts Blackout and passes out like a female on roofies. While he passes out he has a dream that hes in a wonderlust land with the female he was picturing and that is where the music video continues from there. Of course if you watch the end of the video Blackout finds Zeke passed out I am pretty sure you must have some giggles watching this video too. If you love old R & B the music that will get you pregnant while having sex to this song. Its amazing to see an artist like Zeke Jaye evolve the way he did from the last year as he premiered Crush on You when I first met him to what he is doing now as an artist. You see a great strides that he makes in his music while his performances are off the chart and full of life and energy. Take a minute and watch the video here Follow him on Instagram @zekejaye dont forget to subscribe and get more amazing updates on our favorite indie artists
- NEW MUSIC ALERT - VDP
First and foremost we need to thank Anthony Obas the intern at Voiceless Music for this amazing recommendation. VDP was recently played on Monday Night Rawrr as a recomendation for the #DanceHallShowdown The Song Complicated off the compilation No Excuses (Releases August 29th 2017 ) was released for the first time ever not only on Monday Night Rawrr but WVMR as a whole. Launching a new sensation and a new flood of promotion for the collective from Brooklyn New York. We at Monday Night Rawrr were blessed and received a exclusive listen of their latest compilation No Excuses . We definitely need to thank @lexbanton for the opportunity to listen to such amazing music. If you guys did not know VDP is not a band its a collective of talented artists. The fact that there are only 7 tracks the world will feel like there is not enough of a fix for their listeners. I heard the entire album and I want to hear more. The collective has a mix of dance hall and pop mixed with hip hop. Here are our top three picks for this album and its was difficult to even come to this conclusion. Complicated - Feat Kiddo and Lex Banton If you remember the vibe you got after listening to Everyone Falls in Love from Tanto Metro & Devante you will kind of get the same vibe from these two. The smooth transition not only has you hooked by the voice but it has you dancing in your seat. Complicated is that dancehall dance song for the special girl. Potion Number 9 - Feat Kiddo and Lex Banton This track is not as dancehall / reggae but you see more of the pop and hiphop, has you bobbing your head and moving to the beat. More of that party beat getting you hyped to go to the club on the Saturday night. The track talks about the Saturday Night that you need to have. This is a great party track for the summer. Fading - Feat Khem Khem honestly has a voice of an angel in this track. I see her going places in the future. With an old school pop beat and her voice it falls into perfect melody. This track has you thinking bout your former love and how it made you fade and bring you down. Something that many females can relate to. DONT BELIEVE ME? WELL MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE ALBUM WHEN IT COMES OUT TOMORROW AND COMMENT BELOW IF I AM RIGHT OR WRONG Follow VDP on Instagram - @vdpnyc https://soundcloud.com/vdpnyc VDP WILL ALSO BE PERFORMING AT OUR FIRST ARTISTRY RAWRR EVENT SEPTEMBER 24TH AT THE MOCKINGBIRD.

- Pieces from a Beating Heart a true depiction of life after love
We at Monday Night Rawrr was supposed to attend the birthday poetry showcase for R.Solo today but because of 9-5 obligations we have to unfortunately sit this one out. But we wanted to go and tell you about his amazing book that he published. Released June 2017 Pieces from a Beating Heart is a memorable start for poet R.Solo. The poet part of The Artistry camp and a panelist for VHenny once a month talks about the struggles of love, as it blossoms, as it fades and life after it. For someone that has had their share of love and loss this book has hit completely too close to home. Solo, known for his wordplay has put his entire heart and soul with this compilation. The book containing his poetry contains stanzas that are as long as a page and a half, and as short as a few mere words but those words hit you sharper than a blade. His raw passion, especially describing how he describes the interaction he has with women, the way he fantasizes them, how he feels with the memorable first kiss of a woman and what happens when two tantalizing bodies come together in a stream of ecstasy. For myself my favorite part of the entire book was his small chapters on love. The three chapters entailed Life after Love Part 1,2, and 3 describe a romance between himself and a friend of his whom was trying to get away from her ex and ended up falling in love with him. Part one talks about how he went to assist his friend as she went to break up with her boyfriend and they started to fall in love. Part two talks about as they start to break up and how she finally confessed that she still had feelings for her ex boyfriend. While in the third part it was his struggle to move on after the breakup. You start to see everything in the perspective of the man, where you see his soul. Not only seeing his soul but you manage to understand the pain he went through when it was over, the joy he felt when he had it and the sorrow and the miserableness as it was fading to be over. However I will not lie my favorite part of the three parts was the ending where he saw a female at the bar and tried to comfort her, and seeing the ex that caused the entire story to unravel. Normally it takes me a few days to read a book but with this it took me a mere two hours once I was fully hooked and focused on it. I suggest you all buy this book and reflect upon your own feelings. You can purchase the book on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Pieces-Beating-Heart-Rashad-Solo/dp/1530628113 Follow R. Solo on Instagram @r.solo
- Zeke Jaye gets Rawrr in latest EP Nostalgic
Art fest and Art Ent Creator Zeke Jaye gets Rawrr in his latest EP Nostalgic . Released on his birthday, the 22 year old took a more mature turn with his artistry. With moves like michael and a swagg like an honorary thot boy, this EP will surely get the ladies turned on just by listening to his voice. The EP featured only about 8 tracks, giving the audience a little taste and teaser of whats to expect from the artist. And of course don't call Katie a perv but of course she liked X-Rated after seeing him perform it at Art Fest in June it was definitely something different from what she has seen with Crush on You and Too Lit . You see more passion in his music and in his presentation of the song. The song produced by Tone Jonez will be something that will give you something to think about. This track will most likely have your girlfriend screaming that its Zeke's P**SY . Of course though its never a Zeke mixtape or project without a killer collaboration and of course we see he not only collaborates with Artfest member Smoove Shotta but he collaborates with the King of the Thot boys own Kony Brooks. Kryptonite has me wanting Zeke and Kony to be my superman. This track talks about a special female being Zeke's Kryptonite im sure everyone relates to that. You should listen to this song and the whole EP it will take you through the motions like it did with me. Zeke great job on a fabulous EP , cant wait to see where you go now from here. - Ray Fame makes ICMG/2deep and has a kickass EP
The Alpha Thot of the thot boys accomplished something he has been working for a long time. Congratulations Ray Fame on becoming part of the ICMG/2deep label. The native of the Harlem Renaissance has been a loyal and true member of the Thot boys, and a good friend to members of the label Kony Brooks, Teddy Grahams, Jr Just Real, Swagg, and Diips over the last few years and was greatly inspired by the collective and later becoming to what he calls them his Family . In the process of his ICMG/2Deep journey, he had released an EP entitled Paid in Full . In all honesty due to personal issues it took me a while to collectively get my thoughts together to sit down and write this blog out. But seeing him accomplish so much after everything he's told me about himself and his life honestly motivated me to do it. As someone thats struggled to be where I am as a person today, to hear his story and to see the strides he's making as a person, father, and artist I can honestly say I am proud of him. I know many people can say " Well Katie Kay aint Shit" thats fine I'm not. But I can honestly say I was very inspired by everything he has done and the loyalty that he has shown to his team and everyone around him. The Album is the artists lyrical version of the movie paid in full. Where he pictured himself as the main character and he pictures himself and everything through the entire story. My top three songs I must say that caught my attention were: 1) Don't Let Me - feat Kony Brooks The continuing collaboration since Kony Island 2 , with a different vibe than their normal collaborations. They really hit home with the combination of lyrics and the emotion that they put into the song. 2) I Promise - feat Diips In a #Rawrr Interview , this was considered one of the most special collaboration in the entire EP for fame. It was their first time working closely with each other. The track talking about trials and tribulations in our relationships and of course the usual one person that has the side person and the main person. 3) Bet it Back Honestly I loved this because I would drive in the car with people and bump to it on some hard shit. This has to be that theme song that people have when you trying to prove yourself. I listen to this constantly when I need motivation when I am getting ready for gigs and feeling like I need to prove myself. It motivates you so you don't have to deal with those that don't believe in you. They bet five bet five right back and prove them wrong. If you want to understand what I am talking about check it out on soundcloud yourself!!! https://soundcloud.com/uptownfame/sets/ray-fame-paid-in-full-ep Follow him on Instagram @the_real_ray_fame
