Brooklyn post-punk outfit Dead Tooth return with a new single, "You Never Do Shit", released via Trash Casual. The track follows last year’s critically praised Birthday boohoo and marks the first release from their upcoming self-titled debut album, due in July.

Led by Zach Ellis (guitar/vocals), Dead Tooth's current lineup features James Duncan (bass), Taylor Mitchell (guitar), Mikey Cohen (drums), and John Stanesco (saxophone/EWI). The single originally began as a demo Ellis wrote for the fictional band Ex Post Facto for Apple TV’s City on Fire. While the show passed on the track, Ellis saw its potential and brought it into Dead Tooth’s world.

Ellis and former DIIV guitarist Andrew Bailey launched Dead Tooth after meeting while working at a Brooklyn diner. Over the years, the band has released the EPs Still beats (2018) and Pig pile (2022), earning recognition from NME, Spin, and New Noise. Since 2022, Dead Tooth has stayed prolific—releasing an Audiotree session, several singles, and a reimagined version of Demi Lovato’s Cool for the summer.

Known for their explosive live shows, the band has toured extensively across the eastern US and Europe, performing alongside acts like GWAR, Bass Drum of Death, and Juellz Santana, and appearing at SXSW.
