If season 14 was anything, it was a sign that we would have to bid farewell to one of our most cherished characters on Chicago Fire. Joe Minoso, the 47-year-old actor, confirmed on Instagram yesterday that he will be concluding his role as Joe Cruz on the Dick Wolf series. This was following the announcement of former BMF actor Da'Vinchi joining the cast for season 15.

In the Season 14 finale of Chicago Fire, former Chief Pascal (Dermott Mulroney), who had been absent since Episode 14, returns to discuss Severide's (Kinney) career options: Chief of Firehouse 51 or Chief of Fire Investigation? Just as Severide is about to reveal his choice, an emergency call interrupts him.

Regarding Joe Cruz, he and his wife announced last season that they were expecting a baby. In the Season 14 finale, Joe is having breakfast with his colleagues when he confesses that he would love to welcome a third boy into the Cruz family because “girls are scary.”

Later, Joe’s wife is rushed to the hospital, worried that something might be wrong with the baby. A nurse at Gaffney explains that the slight bleeding was due to a small blood vessel getting irritated. But that’s not the biggest news — the Cruz family is expecting twins! What does this mean for Chicago Fire Fans everywhere? We will still have Minoso for a few episodes when the new season airs to close his storyline but make sure you get your Kleenix ready between the birth of his twins and leaving firehouse 51 this might be something that we wont forget.
